Diode VCA Compressor
A diode bridge, modelled at the component level
Free · One machine · No card
The trial mutes for a few seconds every minute or so, in playback and in bounces.
VST3 and AU · macOS · Windows on the way
Not a curve fit. The bridge is solved, sample by sample.
Most compressors that claim a diode bridge approximate one — a static curve measured off a bench and replayed. This one solves the bridge itself: four diodes, their shared thermal state, and the sidechain that drives them, evaluated every sample.
That matters where the hardware is least polite. Fast transients bend the knee in a way a lookup table cannot reproduce, and the two channels drift against each other exactly as a real pair does until you link them.
Everything else is conventional on purpose. Threshold, ratio, attack, release, mix, and a sidechain filter you can hear through. Nothing hidden, nothing that needs a manual.
