FET-ish Compressor

The fast one, with the saturation split out

Free · One machine · No card

The trial mutes for a few seconds every minute or so, in playback and in bounces.

VST3 and AU · macOS · Windows on the way

Two saturation controls, because lows and highs never wanted the same amount.

A FET compressor earns its reputation on attack — fast enough to catch a snare, ugly enough to be worth catching it with. This model keeps that behaviour and then does something the hardware never could.

The distortion is band-split. SAT-LOWS and SAT-HIGHS drive the low and high halves independently, so you can push weight into a kick without frying the cymbals, or glue the top of a mix while the bottom stays clean.

The rest is the classic layout: input, output, mix, ratio, and a high-pass on the detector for when the bass is doing the compressing for you.
